Fang: || "So let me get this straight." a female humanoid speaks, her fox-like features made immediately apparent as vulpine ears perk up and a tail swishes, as if expectantly, from side to side. Fang stands at the doorway of their base's meeting room, scanning the scene before her. "Tasc here was too "busy" to even bother cooking, so you guys... ordered pizza? I..." her voice, progressively less scolding as she speaks, trails off with a sight at this. She looks at the group in turn again, then finally goes, as if defeated, "Yeah okay just give me a slice and we're good."
Valria ) From the corner of the room, a pale green haired girl carefully pushes away a stray hair and covered the speaker of the phone with her hand. "Shh, I am trying to see if they will supply us with koszhere sauce and breadsticks. This usually takes much skill in handling over the phone." the girl softly whispers, then turns away to continue speaking on the phone.
Ralara moves closer to Fang, her youthful eyes full of excitement. "C'mon, Sevy, don't be so mean." Her tone was playful and childish, giving off the feeling that she didn't even mean what she said. "I think we should get to treat ourselves every now and then."
Tascera gives her sister a wry smirk, but doesn't say anything as she leans back against her seat, legs crossed. Unlike Fang, she has no tail, though she seems to make up for it in her technological apparel. Most immediately apparent is a sort of headset, connected via a thin wire to some sort of clawed contraption on her hand. She seems occupied somewhat as she fiddles with a smallish metallic object; this is somewhat typical of her, of course.
Jewel ]] Sitting quietly on a chair, slightly distanced from the others, was a blonde-haired girl with a slightly out-of-place look to her. /Why would they bring me along, I'm no help./ She sighed lightly, then cut it short hoping no one heard it. "I-I'd rather hunt my own food to be honest." She was hesitant with the statement, afraid to draw attention to herself.
Valria: Ivette: *lowering down her book, a strange figure sitting far from the group turns her head around. A black, almost abysmal metallic material hauntingly shifts in shape and form until settling as a pair of long claw-like contraptions in the place for hands. Just around her wrist were intangible threads circling around and connecting to strange hair.* ... * the woman simply looks back and opens her claws violently, causing them to expand as she open and closes them to gain some sensation. If any..*
Fang 's expression immediately lightens up with a smile. "Hey, I already said it was okay." she ruffles her sister's hair, before approaching the central table itself. It was not immediately apparent, but she is carrying a small bag behind her, strapped across her torso. "As expected, no trace of her." she suddenly says, as if doing a status report for her whole team. She quickly procures something small and shiny from the bag, and places it on the table. It's a beautifully clear, tiny gem colored a pale rose, with an opaque center of pure, bright pink. "Thought I'd find something more useful using this fragment as a trace, but..."
Tascera glances up from the object in her hands, watching Fang place thee gem on the table with oddly-patterned gray-blue eyes. "I told you that you should have let me send a machine to scout," She quips. Her tone is fairly matter-of-fact, neutral even, and she soon goes back to the thing in her hands, letting out a slight growl as it randomly beeps.
Valria nods and thanks the delivery man on the phone in Croitian, then presses a button on a holographic screen to put the phone away. Suddenly the phone's very structure began breaking off into small pieces of a strange metal to then reform on the wall as a simple sheet of metal plastered on it as a decoration. Valria wipes off a bit of sweat from the heat of the area and walks on down to the center table. Above her eyes which drive anyone to insanity lies a curiously perched white bird like a hat of sorts, though Valria pays no mind. "Theres quite a bit of interference coming from the main city. Would that not make it hard for your machines to scout and send back information, Tascera?"
Ralara smiles as her sister ruffles her hair. "You'll ruin it." She said playfully before taking a step back. At that moment Fang moved away as well, giving Ralara her cue to realize it was time for serious business... whatever that is. "I don't think I could help at all." she said rather matter-of-factly. "Not unless there's something runic I could do."
Valria: Ivette: *slams her book shut and walks over to the table and releases a strange lace with a curved and rigid blade to wrap around a chair. She roughly pulls it back to sit down on and then looks over at everyone with a blank face. Ivette calmly places her book on the table and eyes the jewel placed on it*
Fang looks at the gem she just placed with a thoughtful expression, before replying, slightly delayed, "Nah. It's probably too late to something at this point, anyway. I'll try again whenever I get the next clue.". She glances at Tascera and Ralara at first, then turns to look at the whole (present) group. She watches Ivette strangely as she makes her way towards the table, but says nothing. She shrugs. "Guess all that's left for today is waiting for the pizza."
Valria speaks up and lifts up a finger, ignoring Ivette's silent yet violent ways. "And breadsticks..! The man will arrive in about 15 minutes."
Tascera opens her mouth to say something, but the object in her hand suddenly unfolds into a long, silvery thing about a foot long. As she watches with a raised eyebrow and a quiet "about time", the machine scuttles off of her lap with its six legs, looking about with a red light that serves as an "eye" and springing up onto the table, focusing said light on the gem for a moment.
Jewel remains quiet in her seat, feeling slightly awkward and out of place. They were all so strong and cool, how could she ever live up to their expectations? As the thoughts began to flow, a wisp of mana formed upon her shoulder into a two-foot long crocodile-esque creature with crystals in its back. The small familiar, Sapphire, began to nuzzle Jewel's cheek as if to cheer her up. /Thanks, Saph./ She thought with a smile.
Valria crosses her legs. "Maybe after our meal we can take a trip to the mana chasms for a good training session." She pets the bird on her head calmly. "Perhaps this time we can entertain the local people there instead of scaring them to death with our general behaviour."
Fang blinks as Tascera's machine whirs alive and is on the table in the span of a few seconds. "Whoa. Nifty." she lets the surprise escape her lips, turning to look at her sister with a smirk. "Though it would be better if it could cook for you." she teases, chuckling lightly at this. She does a vague and almost unnoticeable hand motion that makes the gem fragment on the table instantly shoot to her palm with residual particles of Mana, pockets it, then stretches a bit on her spot. "We'll see about that. I'll join you all in a few for dinner; my priorities right now are taking a shower and resting for a bit after all that searching." she gives a small parting wave, taps her bag as if to check for its contents, then makes her way deeper into the base.
Tascera twitches her ears slightly in a general acknowledgement, and the little machine beeps as if in protest as Fang removes the gem. Tascera holds out her arm wordlessly, and the robot returns to her, climbing up the arm to perch on her shoulder. It scans the room for a few seconds, before getting to work apparently checking the state of its creator's equipment.
Ralara watches as Fang leaves. "By sis! Don't slip, fall and die!" She chimed with a little too much joy for the statement made. She then moves over to Tascera with a curious look in her eyes. "What'cha make now? Something cool?"
Tascera smiles at her youngest sister, gently removing the machine from her shoulder and lowering it so Ralara can take a look. The machine gives another beep and rotates its "head"to examine the younger Ereva. "It's a maintenance bot, but I was thinking of using it to transmit data and scout around. Is that cool enough~?"
Valria looks over at Jewel with a calm composure. "Your silence tells me a lot. Do you feel something wrong at the moment, Jewel?"
Ralara chuckles. "It's awesome!" She says with her stupidly big grin. "... What does that mean?"
Tascera: It means it fixes my equipment, and can also be used to gather information for us.
Jewel flinches slightly as the question startles her out of her thoughts. "N-no, no. I'm fine. I just don't know how I can help is all..."
Pizza Guy ) The sound of the door being knocked on was suddenly heard.... Followed by the door being completely kicked in. Quickly afterward, the most unusual pizza delivery man walked inside the building. Over his red work attire, he wore a black leather jacket. A sheath was slung around his shoulder. He carried several boxes of pizza using only a single finger. He quickly his way to the meeting room in which the group were located, giving each person inside a glance before finally speaking. "Alright, here's your pizza."
Tascera: *A loud, repetitive buzzing noise resounds throughout the base as the deliveryman barges in; a metal plate near the door flips open, revealing a camera with what has to be a laser atop it. The camera extends and the light on it flashes as it gets ready to fire, but Tascera glances at it and it stops, gives a low beep, and retreats back into the panel.* Yeah, you probably shouldn't do that.
Valria looks up and lifts herself off her chair to retrieve the boxes. She avoids setting her eyes at the stranger. Though a strange sense of exhaustion can be felt to whoever was near her anyhow. "How many taivaa will that be?"
Ralara jumps at the sudden crash and whips around to see the pizza man enter. "Yay! Pizza!"
Jewel sighed in relief, grateful to have avoided the conversation with Valria. /That could have gone poorly... they would have known for sure I'm good for nothing and kicked me out./
Valria: Ivette: *completely ignores the smell of pizza and drags her book towards her side. The title, which is written in a completely foreign and ancient language, gave a slight glow upon being moved. * ...
Pizza Guy raised an eyebrow at the first of the people inside spoke to him. "Yeah well, this is what you get when you order from Pizza Break Ins." He then glanced over to the next person as he then placed the pizza boxes on the table. "230."
Valria checks her pockets but finds no taivaa on her. Uh oh. The woman quickly thinks of a way to pay him and then it hit her. Suddenly she looks dead straight at the men's eyes while her pupil slits constricted. A feeling of disorientation and numbness began to project at him as she then grabs his hand to give him taivaa, or so he'd think. Using her abilities, she began to trick the man's senses into imagining the money falling right down on his palm. Even the sensation of feeling the taaiva falling in his palms were all fake. Not to his knowing, of course. "Two...thirty taaiva. Of course, here you are and goodbye~"
Valria: Bird hat: *stares deeply into the pizza guy's soul*
Pizza Guy looked upon the woman that would be paying him, at first noticing her brief nervousness... Soon, he was overcome by a sudden numbness as he then witnessed her handing him the amount of money he requested. By all means, it appeared to be real. It even felt real. But despite this, he knew something was definitely off. "This certainly appears to be 230 taviaa... But still, there's something I don't quite get...." He paused. "Most people would have questioned the price I requested. I mean just think about it... Doesn't 230 taivaa seem a bit expensive for pizza?"
Valria: Tell me,
Valria points to the massive amounts of boxes which seemed....like a ton. "With all taxes aside I would think the price would be just that"
Valria: And besides why did you ask me, a young woman, to pay 230? Are you trying to rob me?
Valria: I know we live in a sexist society where women are portrayed as clueless and dolts however I am not that
Ralara leans over to Tascera. "What's a dolt?"
Tascera raises an eyebrow slightly at Valria, but turns to look at Ralara. "A dolt is another word for an idiot."
Valria snatched away the """""taivaa"""" and scowls "Apperantly what he thinks we are! Clueless and stupid to his game!"
Ralara smiles. "Oh ok, tha-" She stops mid sentence, her face turning into a frown. "Hey wait... Inaka was being mean!"
Pizza Guy ) "I'm sorry to say that the true price is no more than half of that. Though even then, it's still considerably more..." He paused for a moment. "Than the nothing you've given me." At that instant, a suddenly pulse eminated from him, lasting no more than half a second. In that moment, the "taviaa" given to him suddenly vanished. "The desperate resort to trickery. All I do is attempt to reveal the truth... And the truth is that I've yet to be paid."
Tascera: Do you really expect to get paid when you overcharge like that?
Valria raises a brow. "Equilis field b, of course. But that does not excuse your thing you pulled there. "
Valria: Ivette: *She sighs and looks over at Valria. A tinge of annoyance can be seen in her blood red eyes*
Pizza Guy smirked. "Well to be honest, when I've done this before, I've charged less than what I've charged you. Call it a result of your rather inconvenient location. It definitely isn't easy to navigate through a marsh." He paused. "Either way yeah, it /was/ by all means a cruel move. So then, how about I knock it down to 90 taviaa."
Tascera stands up before anyone else can make stuff worse. "Alright, alright, I've got this." Her voice sounds somewhat annoyed, but her demeanor has something else about it. Walking over to a nearby panel, she quickly punches something in; there's a rapid klinking noise before she holds out her hand, catching the coins that fall out of a small chute at the bottom of the panel after a few seconds. Without a word more she walks over to the pizza guy, holding out her hand with the coins, an eyebrow raised expectantly.
Valria crosses her arms, still keeping her eyes plastered at the man with that draining feeling continuing. "100 down and you may eat with us instead if being eaten by One there." She casually points at Ivette who scowls back
Valria: I heard she are her own arms while being trapped in the netherworld
Valria: Bird hat: *intensifies a sense of paranoia and panic. And.... A strange amount of glowing white balls circling around it while a chorus of who knows what sings a deranged syelsumoii incantation backwards...? The bird stares intently*
Valria: Ivette: *rolling her eyes she sighs and then looks at the hat. Her book seems more important to her right now*
Pizza Guy just stared at the girl who then handed him the taviaa. But even, something was still off. Then he listened to the previous' girl's death threat of sorts. He chuckled. "Well if anything, you all are quite the entertaining bunch..." He then glanced back to the girl. "As much as I'd like to see what you'll try after this, I'll just take these taviaa." He then snatched the coins from the girl's hand and started his way out of the building. "A pleasure doing business with you."
Valria narrows her eyes, mouthing out "the nerve" in annoyance but then looks back at the pizza and opens a box halfway. ".....wait." She stops and then takes a breath "my... Breadsticks. Where might they be..?"
Valria summons her rifle and stomps towards the direction the delivery man went. "It is NOT nice to leave out a part of the order, eietzhenen!!!" But then she feels a cord attatch to her arm and pull her back. Valria's increasingly furious face blanks "...sorry. I think I lost my composure there. "
Valria: Ivette: *the cord warped around Valria's arm loosened as Ivette pulled her wrist back to retrieve it* ...
Ralara skitters over to the pizza and nabs one of the boxes. "This one's mine! I'll save some for Rilan too. She's always hungry!"
Jewel sighs in relief. "Glad that's over." /They may have made me fight. The last thing I need is for them to see me fail./
Pizza Guy exited the building, ignoring the girl shouting at him. He flipped one of the coins he had received from the girl as he put the rest of them into one of his jacket pockets. He then slightly chuckled. "It's moments like this when I'm knowingly accepting counterfeit coins that I really come to enjoy my job..." He paused. "But I don't know why she was complaining about breadsticks not on the order I was told to deliver here..." He paused as he then leapt toward a nearby tree. "Ah well, I guess the next guy will take care of it."
Tascera sighs and sits back down; the machine perches on her shoulder again and inspects her headset. "Well, that was eventful."
Vendetta || "Well, of course." a new voice, her tone practically dripping with the sort of knowing and experience that a veteran from the group would be familiar with. A female, clad in strange and mostly monochrome clothing, walks in from a nearby room, examining the scene, before sighting and nonchalantly flicking a few strands of hair--an unorthodox meld of black and white strands--away from her face. "Honestly, this is what you get from... ah, I believe the expression is "trying too hard"." she pulls a nearby chair back slightly, and promptly sits down. "Well, at least you succeeded in getting the food. Good job~"
Valria grabs a slice and softly bites down on it. The taste of goat cheese filled her mouth with pure joy. "Mmph! Dishh ish bery tashty." She then swallows and grabs another slice.
